Every EVV visit, signature, GPS ping, and export is protected by end-to-end HIPAA safeguards. Business Associate Agreements are executed with all subprocessors that touch PHI and are available to your agency on request.

Safeguards protecting protected health information (PHI) across the EVV system.

  • Data encryption
    All EVV records, signatures, GPS pings, and exports are encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). Charting credentials are stored with per-field envelope encryption.
  • User authentication
    Every user signs in with password + optional passkey (WebAuthn). Sessions are token-scoped, auto-expire, and role checks are enforced server-side on every request.
  • Audit logs
    Clock-in/out, signature capture, location pings, credential access, and EVV exports are timestamped and retained for 6+ years for HIPAA/CMS auditability.
  • Secure cloud hosting
    Hosted on HIPAA-eligible infrastructure with SOC 2 Type II controls, network isolation, automated backups, and 24/7 monitoring.
  • Business Associate Agreements
    BAAs are executed with all subprocessors that touch PHI (hosting, database, storage, messaging, aggregator transport). BAAs available to facilities on request.
